A round table on “Huseyn Javid and National Idea” was held on March 6 in honor of the 135^th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid organized by the Student Scientific Society (SSS) and Chair of Azerbaijani Literature at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). The event was attended by professors, teachers and deans of the university.

Opening the event, chair of the Student Scientific Society of AUL Lamia Mughalova spoke about H.Javid’s creative work. He underlined that Huseyn Javid was one of the rare pen masters of the 20^th century Azerbaijani literature and noted that he left unforgettable impressions on the moral memory of the people. Employees of the Azerbaijan Literature Department and SSS members made presentations.

Sarraf Huseynov, Vice-Rector for student affairs, noted that H. Javid, the main representative of literary trends in Azerbaijan literature, was the founder of national romantic poetry and tragedy. Referring to the richness of H. Javid’s art in genre and shape, S. Huseynov said that his works will always live, and the outstanding playwright will always remain in memories.

Finally, the event participants exchanged views on the topic.
