Memorandum on Cooperation between Azerbaijan University of Languages and the University of Indonesia

On December 17, 2018, rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, Academician Kamal Abdulla met the delegation of Indonesia.

A memorandum on cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan University of Languages and the University of Indonesia.

The memorandum envisages strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation between the higher educational institutions, conduction of joint researches, exchange of students and teachers, cooperation in the sphere of in-service of research and pedagogical personnel, holding joint academic conferences, development of scientific publications and a number of other areas.

      Rector Kamal Abdulla stressed that he was pleased to see the guests at the University. Noting the importance of creating opportunities for the implementation of a wide range of the inter-universities projects, he expressed his confidence that he was sure that mutually beneficial relations would be built between the universities. He expressed his gratitude to Professor Bambang Vibavarta, vice-rector for academic issues of Indonesia, for the great contribution to institution of the Centre of the Azerbaijani Language and Culture at the University of Indonesia. He stressed that the doors of Azerbaijan University of Languages are always open to the Indonesian teachers and students all the time.

Speaking about the work done in the sphere of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages noted the possibility of joint cooperation in that direction. He also spoke about the project of summer and winter schools of Baku International Multicultural Center and expressed his gratitude to the Indonesian students who actively participated in those schools as well.

      Professor Bambang Vibavarta, vice-rector for academic issues of Indonesia, expressed his gratitude to the administration of Azerbaijan University of Languages for the sincere reception. He said that there are 14 faculties, two institutes in the University of Indonesia where 45,000 students study. He expressed his confidence that the present existing relations, mutually beneficial cooperation will rise to much higher level hence.

      Expressing his thanks to the rector for his attention  to the Center  of the Indonesian Studies, Professor Bambang Vibavarta stressed that he would render necessary assistance to the Center in supplying necessary copies of literature and in the participation of the students and teachers in future conferences. Then the sides discussed the issues of mutual cooperation and the work to be done for improving the knowledge of students and teachers, as well as their future perspectives.
