On November 14^th, the rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, the Acting member of ANAS Kamal Abdulla met with the first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Azerbaijan Maria Milagros Castanon Seoane.

Academician Kamal Abdulla stressed that Peru is one the countries that gained deep respect of our country and he also expressed his pleasure to see madam diplomat at the university. The rector gave her broad information about the university. He noted that many languages were taught at the educational institution. The rector also talked about the high level of Spanish teaching at the university and the activities held at the university by Spanish language center. Academician Kamal Abdulla noted the existence of ties between AUL and the Spanish, Argentine universities and expressed hope for further expansion of these ties. Informing the guest about Club of “Ambassador Hour” in AUL, the rector invited the guest to give a lecture to students within this project.

Rector of the University of Languages also spoke about the work done by Azerbaijan in the field of multiculturalism and about the possibilities of joint cooperation in this direction. Speaking about the multicultural environment in Azerbaijan, the rector emphasized that the subject “Azerbaijan multiculturalism” is being taught in many countries.

Expressing gratitude to the leadership of AUL for the warm welcome, Ambassador Maria Milagros Castanon Seoane said she was impressed by Baku’s high hospitality. Emphasizing the courage and struggle of Azerbaijani women, the ambassador said she was interested in working with them. She expressed confidence that existing ties, mutually beneficially cooperation will be expanded.

Later mutual cooperation, work to be done to improve students and teachers and future prospects were discussed.
