A conference on “Huseyn Javid’s heritage and modern era” was held at AUL

On April 25, at the Azerbaijan University of Langugaes (AUL), a conference on “Huseyn Javid’s heritage and modern era” was held by the Department of Azerbaijani Literature”.

The director of the Folklore Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), academician Mukhtar Imanov, head of the Azerbaijan Literature Department, said that the conference was dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid: “Huseyn Javid is the author of works embodied in different meanings. In Huseyn Javid’s works, we see the richness of mind. “As Huseyn Javid is a nationalist and worldwide playwright at the same time, he says that it is impossible to fit in frames the theme of “Iblis”, “The Prophet”, “Sheikh Sanan” and other works with rich meanings.

Academician Teymur Karimli, director of the ANAS Institute of Manuscripts, noted philosophical, historical ideas in Huseyn Javid’s creative work opened a new stage in Azerbaijani dramaturgy. T.Karimli emphasized the importance of promoting the creativity of H.Javid: “Studying Huseyn Javid’s creative works, which are of exceptional service in the formation of our mentality, plays an important role in shaping the younger generation in the patriotic spirit”.

Director of Huseyn Javid’s House Museum, Honorary Cultural Worker, Doctor of Philology Gulbaniz Babakhanli, director of the Museum of Huseyn Javid, member of ANAS, said that the museum he is the head deals with the propagation, investigation and systematization of the work of the great thinker and playwright: “Within the Javid Studies project implemented by Huseyn Javid’s House Museum, the articles published in the form of 50 volumed book. So far, under the leadership of academician Kamal Abdulla, Huseyn Javid’s works have been translated into different languages and widely disseminated in European countries”. Having said that more that 15 thousand exhibits were preserved at H.Javid’s House Museum, G.Babakhanli added that various local and mobile exhibitions were organized in the museum.

Professor of the State Security Service Academy named after Heydar Aliyev, Jalal Gasimov spoke about the invaluable services rendered by his daughter Turan Javid in the study of Huseyn Javid’s works on human ideas and Turkish works: “We are witnessing the commitment to history in Huseyn Javid’s creativity, which brought scene dramaturgicy in Azerbaijan literature. When the national-moral values were attacked Huseyn Javid faced the history.

After he wrote the “Prophet”, as Turkish history and land became the target, he wrote “Topal Teymur”. Thus, in his work we see the commitment to historical roots and homeland”.

Rector of AUL, active member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamal Abdulla said Huseyn Javid is a native man of every Azerbaijani, as well as a close poet. Kamal Abdulla gave detailed information about the three-volume book, published under the name of “Lovingly to Javid”. The rector noted that Huseyn Javid, who was at the highest levels of Azerbaijani literature, always called on the great Azerbaijani poets. Kamal Abdulla noted the arrival of the poet’s body from Siberia to our country on the initiative of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in 1982 was not just the simple: “This event was also meant for the intellectuals of Azerbaijan, the burning of green light for their believes, world vision, in the world. Such a step was not made in any of the countries with repression. For the first time in the USSR space it was realized by national leader Heydar Aliyev”.

At the end, a video clip reflecting Huseyn Javid’s life and activity was demonstrated.

It should be noted that a book exhibition, reflecting the life and creativity of Huseyn Javid was organized in the foyer of AUL.
