The Scientific Library and Information Services Center of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) continues its traditional series of orientation events aimed at introducing newly admitted first-year students to the university library at the beginning of each academic year. The latest meeting was organized for first-year students of the Faculty of Philology.

The main purpose of the event was to provide new students with detailed information about the university’s rich academic and intellectual resources and to ensure that they can make effective use of the library’s services.

During the meeting, students were given detailed information on the following areas:

• Library membership procedures: The process of obtaining library cards, registration, and the operating principles of the circulation department were explained.

• Electronic catalog system: Students were shown how to conveniently search the library’s collection and find the literature they need through the KOHA automated library system.

• AUL DSpace digital archive and resources: Students were introduced to the online access opportunities available through electronic textbooks and the digital archive.

• Reading room operating hours: Information was provided about the facilities available for students to study and read independently, as well as the library’s internal regulations.

At the end of the meeting, students’ questions were answered, and recommendations were provided regarding academic and methodological literature relevant to their interests.

It should be noted that such orientation events provide significant support in helping students adapt quickly to the university environment and organize their academic activities more effectively.
