A lecturer at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) has been awarded the DELTA (Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Module 3 international teaching qualification, offered by Cambridge English.

Sabina Nuraliyeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of English Stylistics at AUL and PhD in Philology, has been awarded the DELTA Module 3 qualification.

DELTA is the highest internationally recognised professional teaching qualification in the field of English language teaching. The qualification is accredited at Level 7 of the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). DELTA also covers the Proficient–Expert stages of the Cambridge English Teaching Framework.

DELTA Module 3 is an advanced module that requires teachers to conduct independent research in a selected area of specialisation, carry out an in-depth analysis and diagnostic assessment of learners’ needs, design a targeted course programme based on the findings, and evaluate its effectiveness. The module is assessed on the basis of extensive research.

Sabina Nuraliyeva’s DELTA Module 3 project focused on IELTS Academic Writing Task 2. As part of the project, students’ writing samples were systematically analysed, their needs and areas for development were identified through diagnostic methods, and a targeted course programme was developed based on the findings.

The main objective of the project was not only to improve students’ writing skills, but also to scientifically determine which needs should be prioritised and evaluate the impact of the selected teaching approach on student outcomes by comparing their performance before and after the intervention.
