AUL Staff Participate in Digital Cultural Heritage Panel

On May 14, Associate Professor Rana Rajabli of the Department of Regional Studies on Eastern Countries and Senior Lecturer Shafa Abdurrahimova of the Department of Regional Studies on Western Countries, operating under the Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), participated in a panel session titled “Cultural Heritage and Modern Technologies: Application of Digital Solutions,” organized at the Azerbaijan National Art Museum.

Held in the Davos format, the event featured extensive discussions on the preservation of cultural heritage, the application of digital technologies, and innovative approaches to urban planning.

The main purpose of the session was to demonstrate the role of digital technologies in the preservation and management of cultural heritage, share international experiences, and contribute to the promotion of innovative solutions in this field. Particular attention was given to Azerbaijan’s achievements in digital heritage management, as well as digital heritage initiatives implemented in the Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur regions.

In her opening speech, Saadat Yusifova emphasized the importance of modern technologies in the preservation of cultural heritage and highlighted the significance of international cooperation in this area.

Representatives of various government institutions and international companies took part in the panel discussions. During the presentations, speakers discussed the opportunities created by digital platforms for documenting, preserving, and presenting cultural heritage to the wider public.

As part of the session, participants exchanged ideas, and current issues related to the topic were discussed during the Q&A session. At the end of the event, participants had the opportunity to become more closely acquainted with the Azerbaijan National Art Museum.

The panel session was regarded as an important platform for strengthening cooperation among the fields of cultural heritage, urban planning, and technology, as well as for identifying new perspectives in the application of digital solutions.
