An open class on the environmental issues of Norway and Azerbaijan was held at Azerbaijan University of Languages

At the Azerbaijan University of Languages (ADU), an open class titled “Comparative Analysis of Environmental Problems in Norway and Azerbaijan” was organized within the framework of “Green Week” for third-year Scandinavian Studies students majoring in International Relations and Regional Studies, as part of the course “Features of the Development of Ecotourism in Norway.”

At the beginning of the class, students delivered presentations on the topic. Lamiya Namazova presented on “The Impact of Climate Change on Norway: Melting Glaciers,” Hajar Rafili and Kudai Suman spoke on “Environmental Problems in Norway: The Oil Industry and Its Impact on the Environment,” and Beyim Taghizade presented on “Environmental Problems in Azerbaijan.”

Following the presentations, the Head of the Department of Regional Studies for Western Countries, Sevdagul Aliyeva, and senior lecturer of the same department, Hokuma Abbasova, shared their views and experiences regarding the current environmental situation in Norway and Azerbaijan.

The session continued with a broad discussion with students on ways to address environmental problems. At the end of the class, the importance of an environmentally conscious approach was emphasized, noting that protecting the environment is the responsibility of every individual.
