A scientific seminar on the topic “Current Issues in English Phonology” was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on the initiative of Associate Professor S. Poladova, a lecturer at the Department of English Phonetics operating under the Faculty of English and German Languages.

The seminar was attended by students from groups 106 and 107 of the Master’s Department, majoring in “Linguistics (English).”

Among the participants were Associate Professor Naiba Jamalzade, Dean of the Faculty of English and German Languages; Associate Professor Namiq Asadov, Head of the Master’s Department; Associate Professor Khatira Gojayeva, Head of the Department of English Phonetics; as well as the academic staff of the department.

Within the framework of the seminar, current issues in English phonology, modern theoretical approaches, and applied aspects were discussed. Students delivered presentations and engaged in academic discussions on the topic.

The seminar, remembered for its interactive discussions, was met with great interest by the participants and concluded with a commemorative photo.
