AUL celebrated a traditional holiday "Duanu"

On May 30, Confucius Institute, which operates under Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) hosted  a traditional festival "Duanu", which is dedicated to the memory of Tsyuy Yuan, the patriotic poet of ancient China.

With opening speech director of Confucius Institute, Professor Rafig Abbasov spoke about the development of cultural cooperation between China and Azerbaijan stressed the importance of classical and modern poetry acquainted with the Chinese readers. He spoke about a unique spiritual world of Chinese poetry full of high human emotions as worry, thinking, philosophical generalizations, art star symbol, the seasons, water, flowers, traditional values assessment, respect for elders, family, care, friendship and loyalty, and  read Vice-president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, editor in chief of the "Baku" magazine Leyla Aliyeva's "Summer" poem in Chinese.

The Confucius Institute employee Afsana Balayeva spoke about the establishment history and traditions of the holiday "Duanu", the Shi, Si, A, Syui, Fu the traditional types of Chinese classical poetry.

In her speech, the Confucius Institute employee Nigar Gojayeva  touched upon the artistic creativity of Suleyman Rustam, Rasul Rza, Teymur Elchin, Hussain Arif and other prominent writers.

At the same time, members of the Writers' Union Vahid  Alioglu and Konul Afgangyzy sounded patriotic poems.

At the end, films reflecting the life and creativity of prominent Chinese representatives during the reign of khan and  Tan dynasty.
