An agreement was signed between Confucius Institute within AUL and the National Culinary Center
On June 6, the Confucius Institute at the Azerbaijan University of Languages hosted an event on "The culinary art on the Silk Road".
With opening speech Confucius Institute director, Professor Rafig Abbasov said that Azerbaijan and China's national culinary art is an important element of the cultural heritage and centuries-old traditions of our people. He spoke about the interaction of the cuisine and food traditions of the peoples and cultures of the Silk Road. Professor emphasized the importance of the agreement on cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and China during the historical visit of Azerbaijan's national leader Heydar Aliyev to China.
Director General of the Azerbaijan National Culinary Center Tahir Amiraslanov spoke about diversity and richness of Azerbaijani cuisine, the world-renown and the achievements of Azerbaijani cooks in international competitions.
Employees of Confucius Institute spoke about the history of Chinese cuisine, regional style and well-known dishes.
At the end An agreement was signed between Confucius Institute within AUL and the National Culinary Center. The agreement's main aim between China and the culinary art in the field of cooperation, skilled chefs and cooks in the development of ties, the Chinese cuisine and Chinese national cuisine promotion, the culinary arts field and restaurants in the national design competitions and conferences to facilitate the culinary field master classes by leading experts of the two countries.
At the end a documentary film about Chinese cuisine has been featured.
The head of the Chinese Embassy Public Affairs and Policy Mr. Zheng Haynin also attended the event.
