AUL teachers successfully presented at an international scientific conference
On March 26–27, staff members of the Department of Theory and Practice of Translation of Romance Languages at the Faculty of Translation of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) were successfully represented at an international scientific event. The head of the department, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Ulfat Ibrahim, along with lecturers Leyla Huseynova and Nazrin Rahmanova, delivered presentations online at the 11th International Scientific Conference titled “Language and Reality. Scientific Readings at the V.G. Gak Department of Romance Languages,” organized by the Institute of Foreign Languages of Moscow State Pedagogical University.
Within the framework of the conference, Associate Professor Ulfat Ibrahim presented on the topic “Main Factors in the Development of Contemporary French Socio-Political Lexicon,” analyzing the key factors influencing the formation of modern French socio-political vocabulary, particularly the role of media, political discourse, and global communication processes.
Leyla Huseynova, in her presentation titled “The Castilian Language and Early Mixing of Norms: Challenges in Translator Training,” discussed normative changes in the Spanish (Castilian) language and the difficulties these changes create in the process of training translators, highlighting important aspects of modern teaching methods.
Nazrin Rahmanova delivered a presentation on “Functional Features of Phraseological Units in the Socio-Political Discourse of Contemporary French,” examining the functional characteristics of phraseological units in French socio-political discourse and presenting their stylistic and pragmatic roles on a scientific basis.
The presentations by AUL teachers were met with great interest and appreciation by the conference participants. Questions were raised, and extensive academic discussions were held on relevant issues, allowing for a productive exchange of ideas.
It should be noted that such international scientific events make a significant contribution to expanding the research activities of the academic staff of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, strengthening international academic cooperation, and advancing modern linguistic and translation studies.
