The department of Caucasian studies was established in accordance with the decision of Academic Council of the University on 31 March 2017.

The purpose of the department is a comprehensive study of the Caucasus region, conducting research on the history, culture, ethnography, languages and so on of the people living here.

Note that taking account of the study of the region is the strategic importance, the department will be involved the best scientists and experts who study the Caucasus region.

Research scientists and experts on the region are invited to work at Azerbaijan University of Languages.
