On April 4, Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) hosted the opening ceremony of the Francophone Center. The ceremony was attended by the acting rector of AUL, Professor Afgan Abdullayev, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Azerbaijan Aurelia Bushe, and the director of Francophone University Agency for Central and Eastern Europe Mohammad Ketata and the red ribbon symbolizing the opening was cut. In her speech, expert of French Information Center Jala Salmanova provided the participants brief information about the Center. Then, with the participation of university students "Arshin mal alan" was presented in the French language. After the performance, the director of Francophone University Agency for Central and Eastern Europe Mohammad Ketata welcomed the participants and expressed his satisfaction of creation of the agency at AUL. The days of Francophone are celebrated every year at the University, he emphasized. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Azerbaijan A.Bushe highly appreciated the students' talent. She thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the event. He expressed her hope that links between universities of France and the university will develop. Acting rector of AUL, Professor A.Abdullayev thanked everyone who attended the event and praised the student's performance. It should be noted that prior to the opening of the center, Professor A.Abdullayev met with M.Ketata. Greeting the guest, Professor A.Abdullayev expressed his joy over his visit. Speaking about the university’s history, international relations, teaching process, A.Abdullayev said that AUL is one of the most prestigious higher educational institutions. Talking about language and cultural centers of the university, Professor A.Abdullayev spoke about the activities of the French Information Center. He noted that AUL students learn the French language with great interest and master the knowledge of French history, culture. AUL has collaboration with higher education institutions in many countries, A. Abdullayev said and spoke about the relations with the University of Strasbourg in France. Relations between the university and the French Embassy to Azerbaijan develop in a high level, he added. Expressing gratitude for the warm reception M.Ketata informed about the activities of the agency, which is headed by him. Expressing satisfaction with the cooperation with the University M.Ketata said that he supports all trainings for the teaching of the French language. He expressed confidence that cooperation with AUL will develop. During the meeting, prospects of future cooperation, the establishment of joint projects were discussed. After the meeting, M. Ketata got acquainted with AUL's Information Resource Center (IRC).
