AUL student participated in a scholarship program in Indonesia

Elsevar Mammadli, a 3rd year student of the Indonesian Studies specialty at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), has taken part in the Darmasiswa scholarship program organized by the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture with the choice of Indonesian Studies Center in 2016/2017. It should be noted that this year's scholarship program is attended by about 100 students from around the world. Students participating in the program can choose courses such as Indonesian Language, Indonesian National Dance, Indonesian Traditional Medicine and Tourism in different Indonesian Universities.

Elsevar Mammadli successfully completed Indonesian Language at Pacacaran University in Bandung, Indonesia. According to him, despite the distance between our countries, Indonesia's unique climate, mysterious historical and cultural monuments, natural beauties and rich cuisine have shrunk in imagination.

He first attended the opening ceremony of the Darmasiswa Scholarship Program initiated by the Indonesian Foreign Ministry, representatives of foreign embassies in the country and other officials in the capital, Jakarta, and then studying with students from Thailand, South Korea, Madagascar, Germany and Russia. He emphasizes the role of the university administration in getting to know the city's history, sights and local culture. Although the busy streets of the city of Bandung and the noisy city life, they helped sincere and kind people to adapt to this environment in a short time.

Elsevier tells us that the lessons are very interesting and that teachers use a variety of interactive methods to master the language during the lesson process. Elsevar has started the III language level directly from the Indonesian language course at the Pacacaran University for studying Indonesian language while studying at AUL. He also participated with fellow students from America, Europe and Africa at a summer school organized by the Bogor Agricultural Institute in Bogor, Bogor, and gained new experience in conferences and competitions organized here.

In addition, he successfully represented our country at the International Day at the University. He also participated in the essay contest and entered the top three, which he wrote.

Elsevar was not only satisfied with learning language, but also tried to get acquainted with local culture, especially Indonesian cuisine, and learned a few of the local dishes. He also took an active part in the intercultural festivals at the university and gave detailed information to our students about our country. Even during the Eid al-Fitr, the national cuisine made delicious dishes and organized Azerbaijani Cuisine Day, which caused great interest of Indonesian and other foreign friends.

Elsevar decides to spend a semester break in order to get acquainted with this beautiful island because he has gotten some interesting information about Bali island, which is famous for its beautiful nature and many Hindu temples, yet has an interesting background in the Indonesian Research Center. In addition, Cogencarta, an ancient city on the island of Java, traveled to Surabaya, the port city of industrial development, the Karimuncava archipelago in the Yava Sea, and other small islands, during which he visited the Indian and Buddhist temples in Cokcakarta and Bali.

Together with other students at the University, he attended an excursion to the city of Karah, and from there to Naqa village where centuries-old traditions were kept. "During the time we were in the carpet, we got acquainted with the harvesting of chicks, its traditional methods and the way of the local people," Elsevar said.

In addition, Elsevar worked in one of the tourist centers located in Bandung to accommodate the indigenous people and improve the Indonesian language, as well as learning everyday language, as well as experiencing tourism.

At the end of the academic year, Elsevar successfully passed the semester examinations and attended the closing ceremony held at Malanq Muhammadiyah University in Malang with student friends, where each student was awarded with a certificate for successful completion of the program. After the closing ceremony, Elsevar visited the Bromo volcano and other sights where foreign and local tourists always showed great interest, along with other students in the city of Malaga.
