Rector of AUL Kamal Abdulla met with mass media representatives

On July 21,theb rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), Honorary Scientist, full member of ANAS Kamal Abdulla met with representatives of some mass media on July 22 - National Press Day.

K.Abdulla said that the journalist is the mirror of the society and he spoke about the importance of this area for the development of our country. The rector assessed the allocation of apartments to journalists in the 3-blocks, 17-storey building built by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated July 22, 2013 "On Additional Measures to Strengthen Social Protection of Azerbaijani Press Workers" as a manifestation of the attention paid by the state to journalists.

Speaking about the University, K. Abdulla said there is a School of Philology and Journalism at AUL. The rector said that the university wants to expand its activities in the direction of international journalism, using its specificity and potential: "Today, most of our sites and journalists in Azerbaijan are Azerbaijanis. Very few journalists are fluent in English and Russian. We have a strong enough potential to balance this balance. Unlike other universities in the journalism school, our students can provide education in this direction and we can achieve their future career as a professional ".

K.Abdulla said that meetings with students in editorials for the training of cadres on journalism specialization: "This can be in newspapers, magazines and websites. Students must have places to communicate and enhance their experiences. We can sign a contract with some professional editions. Students working with journalism should work intensively ".

K.Abdulla also spoke to media representatives about the various centers operating in the university. He said that foreign ambassadors arriving at AUL are offered proposals to open Azerbaijani language and culture centers in their countries. Speaking about the importance of these centers, academics emphasized that the work to be done will play an important role in terms of the language, history and culture of the Azerbaijani language.

Media representatives participating in the event spoke about the special attention and care of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, to the journalists before the National Press Day, as a brilliant manifestation of this. It was noted that Azerbaijan, which is an example of different countries in various fields, has also distinguished itself in the care and attention of journalists, and the state has set a special example of solving the housing problems of media workers. Noting the importance of President Ilham Aliyev's statement, "Journalists may be my helpers without knowing it", journalists have stated that they will continue to do their utmost to preserve the power and position of the media.
