AUL’s Department of Linguoculturology Represented at a Scientific Seminar
The Head of the Department of Linguoculturology at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), Doctor of Philology Vusala Aghabeyli, and Professor of the same department, Kamala Jafarova, participated in a scientific seminar entitled “A Tradition Coming from Centuries: Historical Perspectives of Language, Literature, and Culture,” organized by the Department of Foreign Languages of Sumgayit State University.
The strategic objectives of the “Azerbaijani Culture – 2040” Cultural Concept, approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 14, 2026, were among the main areas of discussion at the seminar. These objectives include the preservation of national identity, the development of the Azerbaijani language and literature, the safeguarding of cultural heritage, as well as strengthening the interaction between culture, science, and education.
At the scientific seminar, Vusala Aghabeyli delivered a presentation entitled “The Mission of Language and Literature in the Formation of Cultural Identity,” while Kamala Jafarova presented on “Ethnocultural Evolution: The Unity of Language and Literature in Historical Context.” During their presentations, the historical development of the Azerbaijani language, the role of literature in cultural memory, and the scientific foundations for preserving national heritage were discussed in detail.
It should be noted that the scientific seminar is regarded as an important academic platform contributing to the preservation and development of national cultural heritage in line with the strategic directions of the “Azerbaijani Culture – 2040” Concept, while also playing a significant role in expanding inter-university cooperation.
