On September 15, a meeting was held with the I course students admitted to the university in the 2017-2018 academic year at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). Before the meeting flowers were laid in front of the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The meeting started with a national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Rector of AUL, active member of ANAS, honored scientist Kamal Abdulla congratulated the students on their admission to the university and wished them successes.

Later, the rector read a lecture on great leader Heydar Aliyev.

K.Abdulla, who called Heydar Aliyev the founder of Azerbaijan's independence, recalled that the Great Leader had long been thinking about Azerbaijan's freedom from Soviet times.

Speaking about Heydar Aliyev's work in the Soviet Union, the rector said that thanks to him Azerbaijan was in the forefront of the union among the republics: "One of the most important works of the great leader in the Soviet era was to bring Hussein Javid's body to the ground. Thousands were persecuted, shot dead, and buried in Siberia, and none of them was buried in the area where they were born. This step of Heydar Aliyev was unusual ".

Reminding that the tricolor Azerbaijani flag was lifted during Heydar Aliyev's presidency for the first time, the rector said the country was saving the great leader from the most difficult situation: "After the Great Leader came to power, Azerbaijan began to develop rapidly in all areas. We see that our country is developing from day to day and its power is growing. We have witnessed how much the military power of our country has increased during the April wars ".

He noted that Azerbaijan is a multicultural country and President Ilham Aliyev issued a decree on multiculturalism, adding that "the national leader Heydar Aliyev has made a great contribution to the multicultural environment of the country, with orders and documents signed by the nation".

Speaking about the signing of the "Contract of the Century" by Heydar Aliyev's efforts, Abdulla said that Azerbaijan's position in the world was strong enough since that date: "Yesterday's" Contract of the Century "was extended for another 50 years. It is also more advantageous for Azerbaijan. This historic step will give new impetus to the strengthening of Azerbaijan's position in the world ".

Recalling the words of Heydar Aliyev, "Young people are my trust to you", Abdulla said that he always tried to remain faithful to the great leader's deposit.

The next meeting with I course students was held at the main building of the university. Prof. Afgan Abdullayev, AUL’s  Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, congratulated the rector of the University, Acting member of ANAS, Honored Scientist K.Abdulla, as well as first-year students and wished them success in this glorious work. Abdullayev said the students were not mistaken in the choice of the university. He characterized AUL as one of the universities with its set of values and values in Azerbaijan's higher education system.

Abdullayev gave detailed information about the educational process and the Bologna system. He noted that 1341 students were enrolled in AUL in the new academic year, and their average score was 457.5. He said that, Mikail Jabbarov, the Minister of Education called the 2017-2018 academic year  "Quality Year".

Abdullayev said that the first lessons of the first year students were dedicated to the founder of the Azerbaijan Republic, the founder of the independent Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, and the MPs, YAP Nasimi District Organization Chairman Malahat Ibrahimqyzy.

M.Ibrahimgyzy congratulated on the beginning of the new academic year. He then said that a very good tradition was laid in AUL and the first lesson was dedicated to the ideas of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of our contemporary state. Expressing the importance of this lecture, the MP stressed that being a student, youth, citizen of an independent state, and living in a country with a territory is a great pleasure. He said that students should be educated, educated, and learned to stay in the state.

The MP said that Heydar Aliyev always thinks of two important criteria - language and religion, which ensure that a nation will live as an independent state in the future. He noted that the great leader achieved the Azerbaijani language as a state language.
