An academic and practical seminar titled “The Silent Call of the Digital Age” has been held.
An academic and practical seminar on the topic “The Silent Call of the Digital Age” was organized by Gülnar Abdullayeva, senior lecturer of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), with the participation of second-year students of Group 207 A of the Faculty of English–German Languages.
The seminar was attended by lecturers of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, as well as students studying in the English–German Languages program. Within the framework of the event, the main characteristics of digital autism, the differences between classical autism and digital autism, the impact of digital technologies on human behavior, emotional and social relations in the digital environment, as well as digital addiction and ways to prevent it were discussed.
The main purpose of the seminar was to analyze, in a scientific and practical context, the changes occurring in human life against the background of the rapid development of digital technologies, especially their psychological, emotional, and social aspects. The presentations provided a detailed explanation of the invisible yet deeply influential “silent calls” of the digital environment, such as the decline in communication, emotional distancing, attention problems, and changes observed in social relationships.
In her speech, senior lecturer Gülnar Abdullayeva noted that although digital technologies create significant opportunities in education and everyday life, certain risks arise when they are not used correctly and purposefully. She particularly emphasized the importance of maintaining digital balance among children and young people, as well as the responsibility of parents and teachers in preventing the weakening of real communication and emotional connections.
At the end of the event, senior lecturers of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy Sevda Xaspoladova, Ayşən Şirinova, Nərmin Cabbarlı, and Fidan Hacıyeva delivered speeches highlighting the importance of preserving the human factor, moral values, and healthy communication in the digital age. Emphasizing that the proper use of digital technologies plays a crucial role in both individual development and the healthy formation of society, the lecturers expressed their gratitude to the organizers and active participants of the event.
