An Event Titled “Journey into the Depths of Consciousness” Held
On December 10, an event titled “Journey into the Depths of Consciousness,” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of Carl Gustav Jung, the founder of analytical psychology, was held at the Faculty of Education of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) with the participation of second-year students of Group 229 majoring in Social-Psychological Education.
The event was organized under the guidance of Associate Professor Ceyhun Aliyev from the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy and was attended by third-year students of the faculty, as well as university lecturers Akif Guliyev, Nasir Khankishiyev, and Chairman of the AUL Trade Union Committee, Misgar Mammadov.
Opening the event, Ceyhun Aliyev spoke about the invaluable contributions of C. G. Jung to the field of psychology and his distinguished place in the history of psychological science. Students then delivered presentations about Jung’s life and work, his theories, and key concepts he introduced to psychology such as the collective unconscious, archetypes, the shadow, persona, anima, and animus. Additionally, the characteristics of extraverted and introverted personality types, along with famous aphorisms of the renowned psychologist, were presented to the participants.
Speaking at the event, Misgar Mammadov emphasized the important role such activities play in professional training and wished success to the students and academic staff.
At the end of the event, certificates were presented to all participants.
