Awareness Event Held on the Theme “An Equal World for Everyone”
An awareness event titled “An Equal World for Everyone” was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) on the occasion of 3 December – International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
The event was organized on the initiative of Natavan Jafarli, lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, with the active participation of students from Groups 407 a/b of the English–German Languages Faculty. The head of the Department of Psychology and Pedagogy, Associate Professor I. Mammadli, as well as lecturer Aysel Mustafabayli, also attended the event.
The main purpose of the event was to strengthen a culture of inclusivity, enhance support for persons with disabilities, and expand awareness-raising activities in this direction.
As part of the program, a presentation prepared on sign language was met with great interest by the participants. The presentation highlighted the importance of inclusive communication and demonstrated the practical benefits of using sign language.
The event also featured the life stories of well-known individuals with disabilities, whose journeys of success inspired participants and instilled confidence and motivation.
The educational event served to promote the principles of equality and cultivate a culture of empathy within society.
