The Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), through the initiative of the Department of Civil Defense and Basics of Medical Knowledge, senior lecturer Nahidə Məmmədova, students of group 124b, and in collaboration with AUL’s Scientific Library and Information Service Center, organized an event titled “Protection of Children’s Rights.”

The event was attended by the head of the department, Associate Professor Sevda Zamanova, faculty members, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Aytac Aliyeva, and students from groups 124a–124c. Students of group 124b—Aynishan Qaribli, Fatimə Abbasova, Gunel Həsənli, Həcər Həsənli, Çimnaz Məmmədli, Aylin Əzizova, Nuray Shahverənova, and Şeyda Abbasova—delivered presentations on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Law on the Rights of the Child of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Committee for the Protection of Children’s Rights.

A video reflecting a survey conducted by the students on children’s rights in the university courtyard was shown to the participants.

At the conclusion, Associate Professor S. Zamanova and senior lecturer Nahidə Məmmədova praised the students’ presentations and wished them success in their future activities.

The event also included a presentation by Elshen Huseynli from AUL’s Scientific Library and Information Service Center on the JOVE scientific research platform, highlighting how its visual scientific articles can be used effectively as a resource in the teaching process.

It should be noted that the event was organized within the framework of the “Children’s Rights Month,” held annually in Azerbaijan under the initiative of the Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
