25 october, 2017

On October 24, a round table was held at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) under the Audience + program organized by the Magistracy Department of the University. The deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Defense, Security and Anti-Corruption of the Milli Majlis, Ph.D. in political sciences Aydin Mirzazadeh delivered a lecture to the students of the university who are studying for a Master's degree in Regional Studies and International Relations.

Banovsha Mammadova, Head of the Magistracy Department of AUL, welcomed A.Mirzazadeh and thanked the MP for accepting the students' invitation.

A.Mirzazadeh delivered a speech at the round table on "UN and global peace issues". At a meeting held in an interactive format, MP shared his views on the topic of the students' questions. The deputy noted that the territorial claims arising from the political and economic interests of individual countries cause conflicts among them. As humanity evolved, at times it worked to solve many problems that prevented its development, needed a mechanism that solved peace in the society, regulated these conflicts and transformed new thinking into reality. The deputy stressed that one of such organizations was the UN and gave detailed information on its formation, activity, structure and goals. According to him, the main objective of the UN, which was established on October 24, 1945 and is now 193, is to prevent war and armament, to strengthen confidence among the states, to establish peace and stability in the world.

Speaking about the UN inefficiency, A. Mirzazadeh linked this with the absence of an effective executive structure in the organization, the existence of double standards and its excessive bureaucracy. He also recalled UN resolutions on occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, saying that these resolutions have not been implemented yet. "The UN does not have such a mechanism to guarantee the implementation of these resolutions," he said, adding that the organization has just turned into an agency.

The meeting continued with answers to questions of interest.

A.Mirzazadeh presented some of his personal library and books to the students.

At the end of the event, the Magistrate Department presented a gift to the MP for the education of young people and the promotion of national and spiritual values.
