Kamal Abdulla was named Honorary Doctor of Ural Federal University

The Scientific Council of the Ural Federal University named after Boris Yeltsin, the Scientific Council of the University of Russia, made a decision on September 27 to name the Honorary Doctor of the same university, a full member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist, Doctor of Philology, professor of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla. Among the honored doctors of the Ural Federal University, who have been highly respected by the Honorary Doctor Institute, are influential scientists, well-known statesman Nursultan Nazarbayev, Nikolai Ryzhkov, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Edward Rossel and others.

The management of this university, one of the most prestigious universities in northern Yekaterinburg, has invited academician K. Abdulla to the presentation ceremony in Yekaterinburg.

On October 27, academician K.Abdulla was presented the Honorary Doctor of Ural Federal University at the International Scientific Conference on the Topical Problems of the Participation of Russian Education and Science Scientists, as well as academics from a number of foreign countries.. Rector of the Ural Federal University, Viktor Koksharov, who presented the diploma, noted that the fact that well-known Azerbaijani scholar was among the honorary doctors of the University brought honor to the higher education institution, which served to further develop brotherhood relations between our countries and peoples. He also expressed confidence that it would give impetus to further expansion and deepening of cooperation between Russian universities and Azerbaijani universities, particularly the Ural Federal University and Azerbaijan University of Languages.

Expressing his gratitude for the high award, Academician K.Abdulla noted that the relations between the two countries are intense. Nevertheless, Azerbaijan and Russia have great opportunities for further development of scientific cooperation, education and culture.

Later, Academician K. Abdulla met with students at the Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture at the Ural Federal University. The students were informed about the current day of our country, the multicultural environment, the educational system of Azerbaijan, and  the higher education institution headed by them and answered their questions. K.Abdulla recalled that a group of students from the Ural Federal University attended traditional winter and summer multicultural schools in Azerbaijan, and invited other students to participate actively in the work of these schools. The invitation was welcomed by the students.
