On November 12, Azerbaijan University of Languages (ADU) hosted an event dedicated to “German Language Day”, organized on the initiative of Gülənbər Pirnəzərova, head of the German Language Association in Azerbaijan and Associate Professor of the Department of German Lexicology and Stylistics.

The event was attended by students of group 315 R from the Faculty of English and German Languages, first-year students of the Faculty of International Relations, Aylin Qasımzadə, first-year student of the University of Arts, Nərmin Əliyeva, as well as secondary school students. The participants opened the event by performing the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Germany, and presented poems, songs, and short performances in German.

Dean of the Faculty of English and German Languages, Naibə Camalzadə, spoke about the significance of the event and highlighted the participants’ special interest in the German language. Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Həqiqət Hacıyeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of German Lexicology and Stylistics, Tahirə Gözəlova, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages Teaching Methodology, Raya Həsənova, emphasized that the event contributed to strengthening cooperation between secondary schools and the university.

Deputy Rector Anar Osmanlı noted that such events have become a traditional practice and expressed his appreciation for the students’ performances.

At the conclusion of the event, teachers from Special Boarding School No. 5, Khirdalan City Secondary School No. 1, Yaşam International School, Secondary School No. 18, and Hədəf Lyceum expressed their gratitude to Gülənbər Pirnəzərova for the high-level organization of the event. Certificates of appreciation and gifts were presented to the students and their teachers.
