On November 12, an online training session on the international ranking system “Round University Ranking (RUR)” was held, organized by Baku State University. The training took place on the Microsoft Teams platform and was delivered by Oleg Sobolev, an international expert of the RUR organization.

The aim of the training was to inform participants about the mechanisms of participation of higher education institutions in international rankings, the RUR methodology, data submission procedures, and the analysis of results. The following topics were discussed during the session:

• Diversity of global university rankings (World University Rankings Diversity)
• RUR evaluation methodology (RUR Ranking Methodology)
• 2025 world university results (World Outcomes in RUR 2025)
• Performance of Azerbaijani universities (Azerbaijan Outcomes in RUR 2025)
• Data submission and deadlines
• RUR’s analytical and consulting platform (RUR Compare: Analytical and Consulting Platform)

The Azerbaijan University of Languages was represented in the training by Fatima Qurbanzade, Head of the Quality Assurance and Monitoring Department, Roya Aliyeva, Head of the Strategic Development and Planning Department, as well as staff members from both departments.

Participants received detailed information about the operational principles of the RUR system, data collection during the reporting period, and ways to improve the performance of Azerbaijani universities in international rankings.

Such training sessions play an important role in increasing ADU’s potential for participation in international rankings, improving data management processes, and strengthening strategic development directions.
