An event titled "April martyrs is a glorious page of our history" was held on November 2 at the University of Languages (AUL) within the framework of the joint project of "Support to Young Talents Development" Public Union and the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan on the initiative of the Azerbaijani Scientific Research Laboratory. Sarraf Huseynov, the Acting Vice-Rector for Educational Affairs, said that various events were organized regularly at AUL to instill in them a patriotic spirit and to strengthen their sense of patriotism in their homeland. The purpose of the event was to propagandize the names of the martyrs in the April wars and to perpetuate them. "Huseynov stressed the necessity of living every citizen's life as a hero, serving as a loyal citizen to his people and the state." Perpetuation of the names of those killed in April fights must be a moral duty of every member of society. The heroism of our martyrs should be an example for us, remembering them through this measure, in a way, is to raise the spirit and mood of their families and show that we have not forgotten our martyrs. "

  Ali Mammadov, Head of the Patriotic and Civic Education Sector of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, said the event was dedicated to the memory of martyrs who died in April fights. "Representatives of the young generation and soldiers of the future should know the historical heroic chronicles of the Azerbaijani people. Heroism is a broad concept, it has moral and psychological factors. The heroism shown by our army during the April wars is another example of our ability to return our lands every moment. "

Sabir Mirzayev, father of Mahir Mirzoyev, who was killed in April fights, shared his memories with his son and said he was doing his best to achieve his desires: "I am proud of my son's courage. Mahir Mirzoyev was always a man who was thinking of his homeland. This event is worth mentioning at AUL. Students need to be closer to the issues of service to the people and to the motherland, to be shaped as patriotic youth. "

At the end, a video clip about our heroes who made Azerbaijan's name high was demonstrated.

It should be noted that this project was the winner of the 2nd grant competition for the support of NGOs of the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of Azerbaijan by the "Support to Young Talents Development" Public Union for 2017. The project involves the implementation of measures in the institutions of higher education for the perpetuation of the martyrs' names, which were heroic and lost their lives during the April wars.
