The Rector of AUL Kamal Abdulla Met with Spain's Chargé d'Affaires

On November 8, the rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​(AUL), Full member of ANAS, Honored scientist Kamal Abdulla met with Spain's Chargé d'Affaires in our country, Ignacio Sanchez Taboada. Speaking about the studies of the Spanish language, history and culture in AUL, the rector invited the diplomat to the meeting with students. K. Abdulla noted “the diplomat can give a lecture on any theme he would like to in the “Ambassadorial Hour”. He added “AUL students love the Spanish language and literature and the Spanish language center functioning at AUL does much in this direction: “We also ask you to support us in opening the Azerbaijani language and culture center in one of Spanish universities”. K.Abdulla said “AUL expects Spain to allocate only an auditorium and include the subject into their curricula.  AUL in its turn takes the responsibility of sending teachers to these universities, paying their salaries, and supplying the center with all the necessary equipments. K. Abdulla said that multiculturalism is a state policy in Azerbaijan and that exchange of experiences in this field will also be interesting for both sides. He noted that if the course “Azerbaijani multiculturalism” is taught at the center which is going to be opened, the relations between the universities will also be strengthened. According to the rector, the Center of the Azerbaijani language and culture will probably be opened in the nearest future in South America. If the suchlike center is opened in Spain, that Center can coordinate the work of all the centers in South America. In his turn, Ignacio Sanchez Taboado thanked the rector. Accepting the offer to deliver a lecture in the “Ambassadorial Hour” the diplomat added that he could raise a question concerning the opening of the Center of the Azerbaijani language and Culture in the relating structures in his country. He exactly called the University of Servantes: “We can help build relationships with this university. We can talk over AUL’s getting access to audio and video materials of that university. I will try to help AUL with the provision of all the necessary resources for teaching Spanish and read a lecture here”.
