On January 25, the Confucius Institute at the Institute hosted the event the Chinese New Year - the Spring Festival at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL). The Director of the Confucius Institute, Professor Rafig Abbasov spoke about the successful development in the fields of science and teaching on Sinology. Last year, the opening ceremony of the Confucius Institute was held at the University, scientific studies were carried out in China's global economic project "A belt and a Road", as well as  publication of the book  "Ilham Aliyev - modern successor of two ancient peoples (2003-2016) " both in China and Azerbaijan dedicated to the activity of development of friendly relations between the two countries of  President Ilham Aliyev , R. Abbasov said. As well as student and teacher exchange between the universities of China expanded over the past year, scientific studies were carried out on  Chinese language, its history, culture, as well as in the field of political, economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, R.Abbasov said. After, Chinese Studies students of the School of Regional Studies and International Relations, students and staff of Confucius Institute performed  colorful art programs. Students spoke about the history and traditions of the Chinese New Year holiday, sounded poems. The event was attended by vice rector for Educational Affairs, Professor Aladdin Aliyev and vice rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Dunyamin Yunusov, the Chinese Embassy to Azerbaijan , Chinese students studying in our country, including the Chinese  songs "12 constellation", "New Year", " Family "," Unity "," Blue " were performed and the Uighur dance  " lion dance " was presented.
