A scientific symposium titled “Uluslararası Türk Dünyası Yazarları Sempozyumu – I” (International Symposium of Writers of the Turkic World – I) dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician, and People’s Writer Kamal Abdulla, was held in Ankara, Türkiye. The event was organized by the Turkish Cultural Research Institute.

The symposium featured extensive discussions on Kamal Abdulla’s multifaceted creative work, his scientific ideas in literature, linguistics, and philosophy, as well as his contributions to the culture of the Turkic world. The four sessions of the symposium were chaired by Professors Fikret Türkmen, Bilge Ercilasun, Muxtar İmanov, and Nizami Cəfərov.

In the first session, Professors Fikret Türkmen, Kerime Üstünova, and Nizami Cəfərov delivered presentations on Kamal Abdulla’s literary-aesthetic system of thought, his theory of fuzzy logic, and his ideas in the field of linguistics.

Subsequent sessions analyzed the People’s Writer and academician Kamal Abdulla’s novels, stories, and plays — exploring mythological layers, concepts of time and life philosophy, as well as the structure of artistic language in his postmodern aesthetics. Professors Ayşe Yücel Çetin, Bahtiyar Aslan, Salide Şerifova, İsmet Çetin, Seher Erdoğan Çeltik, AUL researcher Coşqun Dadaşov, Professor Mahirə Hüseynova, Professor Rafiq Əliyev, Jalə Qəribova, and other scholars presented their papers in this direction.

It was noted at the symposium that Kamal Abdulla’s creativity is not only a treasure of Azerbaijani literature but also a shared spiritual heritage of the entire Turkic world. His unique synthesis of language, philosophy, and mythology opens new paths for literature and science alike.

Cəlal İbrahimli, Director of the Center for Turkic World Studies under the Azerbaijan University of Languages, also took part in this prestigious scientific event. During the symposium, he exchanged academic views with scholars from various countries and discussed ways to enhance mutual study of Turkic world literatures and deepen cultural integration.

This international symposium held in Ankara once again demonstrated that academician Kamal Abdulla is a distinguished literary and scientific figure of the Turkic world and was recognized as an important contribution to the development of Azerbaijani–Turkish academic and cultural relations.
