Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), Academician Kamal Abdulla, Academician Mukhtar Imanov, and Director of the Atatürk Center, Academician Nizami Jafarov, visited the “Azerbaijani Language Teaching Center” operating at Gazi University in Ankara. The visit took place within the framework of a project by the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Türkiye.

During the meeting, Director of the Azerbaijani Cultural Center in Türkiye, Samir Abbasov, provided information about the activities and projects carried out to promote the Azerbaijani language and national culture in Türkiye. He also presented proposals for joint projects with the Azerbaijan University of Languages, the Institute of Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, and the Atatürk Center.

The discussions focused on organizing the teaching of the Azerbaijani language in Türkiye in a more systematic and large-scale manner, exchanging experience in this field, preparing scientific and methodological materials for language learning, organizing master classes, compiling Azerbaijani-Turkish terminological dictionaries, enabling distinguished students from Azerbaijani language courses in Türkiye to attend the AUL Summer Schools, as well as cooperation with Gazi University and the implementation of projects reflecting the common culture and values of the Turkic world. The parties reached an agreement on these cooperation initiatives.

The meeting was also attended by Gazi University Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Selami Candan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Serçin Karataş, Deputy Director of the Center for Turkish Culture Studies Prof. Dr. İsmet Çetin, and Instructor of the Azerbaijani Language Teaching Center Dr. Shahla Ibishova.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Kamal Abdulla presented copies of his authored books to the library of the Azerbaijani Language Teaching Center.
