On January 12, on the initiative of  the Confucius Institute operating at Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) a seminar on “Current problems of the activities of Confucius Institutes "  was held under China's initiative "One belt one way" context. Speaking at the opening of the seminar director of  the said institute Professor Rafig Abbasov noted that "Economic belt - Silk Road" aimed at the creation of economic and trans-Eurasian transport corridors one of the main objectives of the Confucius Institute was carrying out scientific research in the field of Azerbaijan's participation. Speaking about the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev’s last meeting with Jan Qaoli, first deputy chairman of the China's State Council he noted that Azerbaijan plays an important transit role in China and Europe transport route. Ms. Li Jihua by the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute stressed the importance of scientific researches in the field of  expanding multilateral relations among the Great Silk Road countries, over the past year more than 20 scientific seminars were held dedicated to the political, economic and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, she said At the seminar, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Salman Nuriyev said that the Confucius Institutes took part in the XI World Congress. He spoke of the support to the development of information resources of the Confucius Institute, as well as including the day of organization of the Confucius Institute and summer camps and, Confucius Institute of the priorities of the development of international relations. In the end, the main issues of scientific and educational activities of the Confucius Institute were discussed.
