AUL held a round table dedicated to the Khojaly genocide

On February 14, Department of Social Sciences of Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) organized a roundtable on the "Khojaly event is a result of the Armenian vandalism".
Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Associate Professor Adalat Abdiyeva brought into the attention of the participants that the round table was held on the basis of events plan dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide which is a painful event for every Azerbaijani. This exciting and turbulent history resulted in the great human loss for our nation, and the destruction of a great number of historical and cultural monuments, she said. A. Abdiyeva added that our state has done enough in the direction of promotion and recognition and proper assessment of Khojaly genocide around the world, but because of the double standards we face some difficulties in declaring of our voice to the world.
Other participants of the round table spoke about Khojaly genocide one of the bloodiest pages of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict based on the reality of the facts, human loss and vandalism against Azerbaijan statehood, as well as throughout the history the Armenians’ hostile position against the Azerbaijani people, in separate periods concerned about our people going toward independence committed various acts of sabotage and massacres which are contrary to international law. In the result of the campaign of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation "Justice for Khojaly", a number of world’s governments accepted the Khojaly massacre as genocide.
At the end Vice rector for Educational Affairs of AUL, Professor Aladdin Aliyev praised the round table, and thanked the Department of Social Sciences who contributed to its holding. He also said the students to be involved in the events of this kind in a systematic way, the importance of their bringing up in the national spirit.
