On November 22, the event was organized with the combined organization of the French Information Center functioning at Azerbaijan University of Languages and of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism. The Head of the Department of Foreign News Analysis at Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting Company (AzTV), journalist Vugar Alasgarov delivered a lecture on "The shortages of Journalists speaking foreign languages in the Azerbaijani media, language and style problems" to the students specializing in Journalism. V. Alasgarov spoke about the general principles of journalism, differences between television and agency news, as well as the role of the media in leading the mass: "In the concept of classical news, the chronological sequence of news should be respected, and it is important to be able to posses the skills of translation and style in journalism. News headlines should not be neglected, but should also reflect the essence of the news in the articles. “Mentioning the most stylistic problems in journalism, V.Alasgarov said “the knowledge of foreign language plays an important role in the professional journalist's activity.” The lecturer answered the students’ questions in this interactive event.
