A Center of Russian Studies was Opened at Azerbaijan University of Languages

A Cooperation Agreement between AUL and the Russian State Institute named after A.S. Pushkin was signed On December 8, a Cooperation Agreement between Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​(AUL) and Russian State Institute named after A.S.Pushkin of the Russian Federation was signed. The agreement was signed by Rector of AUL, Full member of ANAS, Academician Kamal Abdulla and Rector of the Russian State Institute named after A.S. Pushkin, Professor Margarita Rusetskaya. After the signing of the documents , the opening ceremony of the Center of Russian Studies was held at AUL. Much is meant for the realization  within the framework of the agreement, such as,  the Russian language teaching, testing and testing procedures, staff training and classification, as well as the use of distant education, organizational, methodological and technical supports to the projects and programs  by means of “Education in Russian” portal implemented in Russian language teaching and testing, Russian Language, Russian Language and Literature, as well as the Olympiads on the national language skills, the organization of creative competitions and educational tourism programs on the basis of the Russian Scientific Research Laboratory, which operates under AUL . Rector K.Abdulla said he was pleased to see the guests at the university. K. Abdulla mentioned this center will be an important platform for realization  of the projects between the two higher educational institutions and for strengthening their relations. He also noted that much useful and efficient work will be done within the framework of the signed agreement. Vice-rector for International Relations Viktoriya Kosteva, Russian State Institute named after A.S Pushkin, expressed her regret for the fact that the rector of the institute, M.Rusetskaya, was unable to attend the event for some urgent reasons. She read the letter by Rector M.Rusetskaya  addressed to  Rector K. Abdulla. In the letter, Rector M.Rusetskaya congratulated K.Abdulla on the occasion of the award with the Pushkin Medal, the highest state award of the Russian Federation. The letter noted that the indispensable role of Rector K. Abdulla in the promotion of Russian language and literature and  Russian culture in Azerbaijan, as well as his extensive activity in Baku International Multiculturalism Center was highly appreciated. In the letter Rector M.Rusetskaya also noted that all the novels, plays, poems, essays and articles written by K.Abdulla are read with great pleasure in Russia and other foreign countries.  Rector M.Rusetskaya ended her letter with her best wishes to K.Abdulla  achievements in  science, education, public and literary creativity. Later, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Institute V. Kostoeva presented Rector K.Abdulla the brand of the educational institution. Vice-rector V.Kosteva informed all the participants about the establishment of the institute, the educational process, the student committee, together with  the head of the Linguistic center Oleg Rodchenko, she spoke about the examinations conducted by certified testing. Then MP Elmira Akhundova, head of the Russian community Mikhail Zabelin, archbishop of Baku-Azerbaijan eparchy Alexander shared their views. Then the official opening ceremony of the Center of  Russian Studies was held. The same day, Oleg Rodchenko, the head of the Linguistic Center of  the Institute, delivered a lecture on "Actual Processes in Russia to the Russian language specialists." He gave detailed information on  Phonetics, Grammar, Lexicology and Semantics of the Russian language, as well as on the activity process at different levels. The students of AUL took exams  for checking their reading, writing, listening, lexical and grammatical skills by  certified testing within the framework of the signed agreement. The exam lasted 4 hours. The students were given certificates at the end of the exam. Then a press conference was held at AUL with the participation of representatives of mass media in  the country. The officials of the Russian State Institute named after A.S.Pushkin informed  mass media representatives about their organization. The guests answered the questions of the agreement signed between the universities in the field of education, future prospects, plans for Russian studies, teaching the Azerbaijani language in Russia and other questions.
