On January 19, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​(AUL), Full member of the ANAS, Honored Scientist Kamal Abdulla received the newly appointed Director of Yunus Emre Institute Baku Turkish Culture Center, Turkologist  Jihan Ozdemir. Expressing his satisfaction with the guest’s visit to Azerbaijan, at the same time to AUL, Kamal Abdulla said he was sure that their highly-developed  relations  would further continue in the  same way. Rector noted with regret that Turkology, uniting the Turkish language, history, culture and literature, can not appear in a unifying position, and each country does something separate in this direction. Kamal Abdulla stressed that such an approach can not be acceptable and there is a need for to take some exact steps to unite. Speaking about the publication of the journal “Turkology" in Azerbaijan and its serious international success Rector of AUL highlighted an interesting initiative: "Turkological journals are published in different countries around the world. We intend to gather the editors of those journals in Baku and hold a conference en titled "Turkogical Journals in the Turkic World". This great event is planned to be held every other two years. It is also planned to award scholars who have done serious work in the field of Turkology ". Thanking Kamal Abdulla for his services in Turkology and serious initiatives, Jihan Ozdemir expressed his satisfaction for being at AUL. Being for the first time in Azerbaijan, the guest said the high development of our country made a good impression on him. Welcoming the initiative to hold a world-class event in Azerbaijan in connection with Turkology, the guest said they would do their best to realize it. Jihan Ozdemir expressed his confidence that relations between Yunus Emre Institute Baku Turkish Cultural Center and AUL will reach the highest level. At the end gifts were presented to the guests.
