An event on the theme "Winner of the struggle for salvation" was held at AUL

On May 13, 2025, within the framework of the Year of Constitution and Sovereignty, on the initiative of the Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, an event on the theme "Winner of the Struggle for Salvation" was held, timed to June 15 - National Salvation Day.
The opening speech was made by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Ibrahim Kazymbeyli. He spoke in detail about the deep political crisis, civil war and the threat of separatism faced by the people and state of Azerbaijan in 1993. In his speech, the professor described the period of 1991-1993 as a time of chaos, powerlessness and adventurous experiments in the recent history of the country. He noted that the main role in the emergence of this situation was played by the stay in power of persons who had neither political will nor leadership qualities.
The professor stressed that, despite all the importance of gaining independence, its preservation and development is even greater responsibility. It was the return of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to political power at the request of the people on June 15, 1993 that became a turning point that led to the salvation of Azerbaijani statehood. Since then, socio-political stability has been ensured in the country and the process of building the rule of law has begun.
Namig Kerimov, Associate Professor of the Department of Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan, made a report on the topic "June 15 - Salvation and the Beginning of a New Era". He covered in detail the essence of the crisis period and the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in finding a way out of the crisis.
Within the framework of the event, a discussion on the topic was held. Head of the Department of Caucasian Studies and History of Azerbaijan, Associate Professor Khatira Hajiyeva and Associate Professor of the same department Gorkhmaz Mustafayev shared their opinions.
