21 may, 2018

On May 18, Azerbaijan University of Languages (the AUL) held the national student-pupil scientific conference on the theme "Heydar Aliyev and modern Azerbaijan" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and organized by the Student Scientific Society of the University.

The authorities of the AUL and the conference participants commemorated the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and laid fresh flowers in front of the National Leader’s bust in the foyer of the University.

The national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and "Gaudeamus" student anthem were performed at the opening ceremony.

The Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, chairman of the organizing committee of the conference, Full member of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Honored Scholar, Professor Kamal Abdullayev welcomed the guests and expressed his pleasure to see them at the university saying that today is a special day at Azerbaijan University of Languages. "The special day is due to the fact that we have many guests from all over Azerbaijan. Schoolchildren have come to visit us with their directors and teachers. At the same time, there are guests from some schools in Baku. The representatives of many universities and academies in Azerbaijan also take part here." Speaking about the solemn commencement of "Heydar Aliyev and modern Azerbaijan" student-pupil conference dedicated to the memory of the Great Leader, the rector drew attention to the international conference titled "Heydar Aliyev: The Ideology of Multiculturalism and Tolerance" recently hosted by the AUL: "It seems to me that many of you know about this conference. This conference became a unique conference, and the uniqueness is that we started the conference at this university, and one month later we completed it here as well. However, within a month, the sections of the conference took place in 10 countries and at 15 universities. These countries were China, Russia, Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, Turkey, Italy and Serbia. In some of these countries, the participation of 4-5 universities gave a special color to this conference. We took the ideas of the Great Leader to those countries and universities. We once again recalled the actions of the Great Leader for Azerbaijan and the world, and once again were convinced that his activity was an extremely important, useful and vital phenomenon for Azerbaijan." Rector K. Abdullayev said that this conference, which is being held today by students and pupils together, carries extremely symbolic meaning. "If we clarify its meaning, first, the scientific and social significance of the conference is that each one of our pupils is prepared by a teacher, professor, associate professor of our university. Second, that student enters university life. He visits the university, gets acquainted with it, finds new friends at the university. The goal is to make the students of our university accompany our guests and create an idea about our university. Finally, the third goal is that this year for the first time in the life of the university, some of our students who are in pedagogical internship at refugee and IDP schools located in different regions of our country now have the opportunity to meet with pupils from those schools today. And this is a very moral aspect." Speaking of the political importance of the conference, Kamal Abdulla stressed that the national leader Heydar Aliyev did his best to stop the war in the country and achieved a lot. The Rector said that President Ilham Aliyev is working hard to solve the Nagorno-Karabakh problem today and expressed his confidence that this issue will be settled peacefully.

Stating that President Ilham Aliyev demonstrated successful and effective functioning of the Azerbaijani model of multiculturalism throughout the world, and kept the solemnity of this ideology alive, Rector Kamal Abdulla said that the AUL found a place in this political direction as a centre of different languages and cultures of the world: "The AUL communicates Azerbaijan's realities in different universities and scientific centers of the world through the ideology of multiculturalism and tolerance and various ideological factors. I believe that the general meaning and harmony of our today's conference will be about having profound knowledge of the activity of the Great Leader and President in this direction and spreading the word about this activity in different directions in the future in world universities and regions of Azerbaijan."

Remembering the time when he left Jabrayil at the age of 12 as a result of the Armenian invasion, Z.Haziyev recalled the moments he witnessed: "Thank God, 24 Years later, at the age of 37, I returned to our own land. Today, Jojug Marjanli lives its very beautiful days. The school building, settlements were built, and conditions were created in the ruined village. Mr. President himself was the guest of our school at the opening ceremony. In the difficult situation of 1993, if the National Leader came to power several years ago, our lands would not be occupied. In the successful Horadiz operation of 1994, 22 settlements of Fuzuli region and Jojug Marjanli village of Jabrayil were liberated from occupation. However, the village which had remained under occupation for several months was completely ruined. It was impossible to live there, Armenians were in control of all the nearby hills. Over the years, we were waiting for the day when our army would win, that was the dream we longed for. In April 2016, many of our soldiers became martyr, especially as a result of battles on Lala Tepe hill, but our military proved its power. The Armenians were saying that despite of all the efforts in 1994, Lala Tepe hill could not be liberated. However 2016 battles served them right." Z.Haziyev who noted that the conference was held at a high level and wished success to the conference said that he had a lot to say: "Talking about the National Leader about an hour, two days, few months will not be enough. The sustainable development of the Republic of Azerbaijan dates back to that day. On June 15, 1993 is the Day of Salvation in Azerbaijan. If Mr. Heydar Aliyev did not assume the leadership of Azerbaijan for the second time at the people's will, the existence of the state of the Republic of Azerbaijan would not be possible on the political map of the world today. Indeed, only the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev could assume the leadership responsibility for Azerbaijan, which was on the verge of both civil war and political crisis."She underlined that today the successful policy of the National Leader is being continued by the unparalleled leader President Ilham Aliyev who has won the people's sympathy, protects the national interests of Azerbaijan, and secures our country's security: "Thanks to President Ilham Aliyev's intensive and efficient political activity, our country further develops day-by-day and finds its worthy place throughout the world."
