On May 29, at the Azerbaijan University of Languages ​​(AUL), the event  "31 May is the World Day to Combat Tobacco", on the topic "Prevention of harmful habits".was organized by Sadagat  Musayeva, Senior Teacher of the Department of Civil  Defence and Basics of Medical education .At the event Sadagat Musayeva spoke about the threat of tobacco use and methods of struggling against the tobacco epidemic. She said that   tobacco was in the second  place among the causes of death in the world and reducing tobacco use in public could eliminate this factor. Saraf Huseynov, a vice-rector for Education, said: "People who smoke regularly are more likely to experience chronic diseases of the respiratory system, cardiovascular diseases, including lung cancer. S.Huseynov underlined the importance of restriction of tobacco use in closed spaces after the adoption of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan "On restriction of tobacco use".Later on, the employee of the Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, physician-metodist Latafat Dadashova made a presentation on "31 May World Day Against Tuberculosis and Heart Diseases". L.Dadashova spoke about the consequences of tobacco smoking, the illnesses and the fight against tobacco in Azerbaijan.The interactive event ended with answering questions from students.
