An event on the topic "Western Azerbaijan: the history of the forgotten homeland" was held

On the initiative of English Language Lexicology Department of English and German Languages Faculty of AUL Senior Lecturer Tarana Zeynalova, and Senior Lecturer, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology Gulshan Magerramova, an event entitled "Western Azerbaijan: History of the Forgotten Motherland" was organized and held with the participation of students of groups 221a and 321b.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In the round table format, students of 221a and 321b groups presented reports on the Irevan Khanate, its history and cultural heritage, as well as on the initiatives of President Ilham Aliyev, First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva and Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva dedicated to the Zangezur corridor, and on special attention paid to this topic.
During the event, it was noted that the creation of the Zangezur corridor is one of the key missions of the great leader Heydar Aliyev. His worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, successfully continued this mission, having achieved important goals. The main theme of the event was the President's statement: "Our historical lands are the Irevan Khanate, Zangezur and Goycha. The younger generation and the whole world should know about it."
The students spoke about the regional and international importance of the Zangezur corridor, the mechanisms of this project implementation, as well as the role of the younger generation in this process. The event contributed not only to increasing the interest of young people in historical and modern political processes, but also to deepening their knowledge and developing discussion skills.
The event was also attended by the Acting Head of the Department of Lexicology of the English Language, Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor A.E. Gulieva.
