AUL representative office in Pakistan promoted Azerbaijani language at the international forum

On May 6, the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) representative Center for Azerbaijani Language and Culture, operating in Pakistan, took part in the organization of the forum "Interpreting the World: Unlocking Language and Culture" together with the Department of Translation of the Faculty of Languages of the National University of Modern Languages ( NUML).
About 50 teachers and students took part in the forum. The special guest at the event was the head of the Language and Culture Center Ainur Salmanova, who spoke about the history of the Azerbaijani language. She noted that the Azerbaijani language has been subjected to various pressures throughout its history, and the scope of its use has been limited.
Ainur Salmanova emphasized that the history and culture of each nation are reflected in its language. She also focused on the role of language in the formation of the culture and national identity of the people. In her speech, she conducted a comparative analysis of Turkish, Urdu and Azerbaijani languages, giving examples of proverbs, expressions, forms of greeting and address, to emphasize the importance of such social norms as respect for elders, ethical norms and hospitality, which are the basis of Azerbaijani culture and are reflected in the language.
She also reminded that during the reign of Shah Ismail Khatai, the Azerbaijani language was recognized as the state language, and during the years of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the development of the language was the focus of attention. Since the beginning of the 90s of the XX century, she also noted the great contribution of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the development and maintaining the purity of the Azerbaijani language.
