Ankara University TÖMER center opening at AUL

On May 7, an agreement on academic cooperation was signed between the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) and TÖMER Center for the Study of Turkish as a Foreign Language at the University of Ankara), and the grand opening of the TÖMER representative office at AUL took place.
The opening ceremony was held within the framework of the VIII International Conference, organized by AUL, on the topic: "Heydar Aliyev: the ideology of multiculturalism and tolerance". The event was attended by the heads of both universities, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Birol Akgun, as well as by well-known representatives of the Turkish public.
The Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, Academician Kamal Abdulla, delivered a welcoming speech. He welcomed the guests and expressed his satisfaction with their visit to the university. It was noted that the relations of friendship and brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan continue to develop dynamically. The signing of a cooperation agreement between AUL and TÖMER center of Ankara University will be a new contribution to strengthening these ties:
"From today, TÖMER center will start its activities on the basis of the Azerbaijan University of Languages. This is a unique opportunity for everyone who wants to learn Turkish professionally and qualitatively under the guidance of experienced teachers and get an official TÖMER certificate. We really want this agreement to be fruitful, so that we get to know each other and the entire Turkic world better."
The Rector of Ankara University Nejdet Yunwar, thanking for the warm welcome and kind words, noted that the signed agreement will make an important contribution to the development of relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan:
"I am especially proud that the signing ceremony of this agreement coincided with the international scientific conference, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. We are very glad that the foundation of TÖMER is laid on such a significant day." Having shared the bright memories of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Rector emphasized the high level of organization of the international scientific conference, held at AUL on the occasion of the 102nd anniversary of his birth. It was also noted that the opening of the TÖMER office at AUL will further strengthen the friendly relations between our peoples. In addition, it will create conditions for future scientific cooperation, implementation of exchange programs and discovery of new scientific prospects.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey Birol Akgun emphasized the importance of the signed agreement on academic cooperation between AUL and Ankara University TÖMER Center. Speaking about the development of relations between the two brotherly countries, the ambassador wished success to the TÖMER office in Baku and expressed confidence, that this project will make a significant contribution not only to the strengthening of Azerbaijani-Turkish ties, but also to the consolidation of the Turkic world as a whole.
Then the opening ceremony of the TÖMER office of Ankara University at the Azerbaijan University of Languages was held. Academician Kamal Abdulla and Nejdet Yunvar cut the symbolic ribbon marking the opening of the center, after which the guests got acquainted with the created conditions.
