On 10 April the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the representatives of the Operations Secretariat of “Baku EXPO 2025” made presentations on the World Exposition “EXPO 2025” to the students at Azerbaijan University of Languages with the support of “SABAH” groups and the Students’ Voluntary Program “BIR”.

Opening the event, the AUL Acting Vice-rector for Developmental Affairs Sarraf Huseynov said that there is an exposition movement characterized by cultural exchange, establishment of friendly relationship among the people in the modern period, “As we know, 1851 is indicated as the beginning of the exposition movement consisting of three parts. People share their industrial achievements at the first stage, and cultural values at the second. The last stage started approximately in the late 1980s, and at this stage the states demonstrate their brands. Now we are at the third stage, and as the President of the country Ilham Aliyev said, ‘Today Azerbaijan presents its own brand to the world’.” S.Huseynov, who emphasized the benefits of the exposition, the presentation of it to a wider public and the importance of the Azerbaijani youth’ support of the expo projects, called the students to be active in the advocacy of “Baku EXPO 2025”. The Chief of the International Standards Application Section at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the expert on the EXPO Health Care Theme Maryam Gafarzadeh stated that “Baku EXPO 2025” is the project where innovations, new inventions, also the country’s culture will be demonstrated. She focused the participants’ attention to the information on the construction of an exposition building in an octagonal shape reflecting our state coat of arms in an area of 200 hectares in the eastern part of the capital and the career potentials for the youth in case the World Exposition will be held in Baku and Baku bid to host the event.

The Chief of the Sector at the Ministry of Education, the expert on the EXPO Education Theme Jasarat Valehli noted that our country’s hosting the World Exposition EXPO 2025 will be the continuation of the rich experience in the organization of great international events to be held in future, “I see Baku EXPO 2025 as the most splendid platform for the Azerbaijani youth in expanding their potentials.”

The Deputy Chief of the Employment and Demography Section at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the expert on the EXPO Employment Theme Rana Abdullayeva spoke of the globalization, the current state on the world labour market and virtual workplaces in her presentation on: “Achievement: the Future of Employment”.

There was also a video demonstrating Azerbaijan’s culture, history and the events hosted by our country at the meeting.

It should be reminded that Azerbaijan first took part in the national pavilion at the World Exposition “Milan Expo 2015” with the support of Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Further Azerbaijan was represented at high level at the international expositions “Antalya Expo 2016” and “Astana Expo 2017”.
