On 6 April the Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, the Full Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Honoured Scholar Kamal Abdulla met with the journalists in connection with the I International Scientific Conference “HEYDAR ALIYEV: Multiculturalism and the Ideology of Tolerance” dedicated to the 95^th Jubilee of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, to be held on 9 April – 5 May by the joint organization of the New Azerbaijan Party and Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism.

The Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla expressed his pleasure in meeting with the representatives of mass media at the university. He also expressed his gratitude to the New Azerbaijan Party and Baku International Centre of Multiculturalism involved in the organization of the conference to be held in the period from 9 April to 5 May 2018.

Kamal Abdulla pointed out that Azerbaijan University of Languages will host the opening and closing ceremonies of the conference and the sections of the conference will be organized on the basis of the relevant leading Universities of different countries, alongside with Azerbaijan University of Languages (the Republic of Azerbaijan). He stated that the sections will on the themes: “Modern Azerbaijan: Social, Political and Economic Development” at Erciyes University (Turkey) and “Heydar Aliyev and the Turkic World” at Erzurum University (Turkey) and “The Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan Is the First Democratic Republic in the East” at Ural Federal University after the First President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin (the Russian Federation), “Above the Borders: Russia and Azerbaijan: the Practice of Intercultural Dialogue” at the State Russian Language Institute after A.S.Pushkin, “The Dialogue as a Factor of Co-existence in the Polycentric World” at Moscow State Linguistics University, “Multiculturalism and Russia’s Studies of Azerbaijan” at Samara Branch of Moscow City Pedagogical University, “Heydar Aliyev’s Role in the Development of Azerbaijani-Ukrainian Relations” at Kiev National Linguistics University (the Republic of Ukraine), “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani-Belorussian Relations” at Minsk State Linguistics University (the Republic of Belorussia), “Azerbaijani Practice of Multiculturalism” at Belgrade University (the Republic of Serbia), “Heydar Aliyev’s Role in the Formation of Azerbaijani-Georgian Relations” at Tbilisi State University (Georgia) (with the participation of Batumi, Kutaisi, Gori, Telavi Universities, the appropriate institutes of the Georgian Academy of Sciences and the Knowledge Foundation), “One Belt – One Way: Learning of Multiculturalism” at Huzhou University (the People’s Republic of China), “Multiculturalism, Social Security, Immigration, Freedom” at Cassino and Southern Lazio University (the Republic of Italy) (with the participation of the Peace and Security Foundation, Roma Tre University, the University of Genoa, Link Campus University, the University of Nimes (France), the International Management University (Moldova)), “Azerbaijan and German Multiculturalism” at Augsburg University (the Federative Republic of Germany).

Rector K.Abdulla, who said that this significant event is the first of its kind in the AUL history, stated that this conference will carry out the function of advocacy of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s merits in Azerbaijani multiculturalism. K.Abdulla also noted that this event will serve the consolidation of the relations among the universities, specialists and students as well.

K.Abdulla also touched upon the issue of teaching the course “Azerbaijani Multiculturalism” abroad and mentioned the important steps taken by the AUL in the presentation of the Azerbaijani language, culture and multiculturalism in the world and the opening of the Centres for Azerbaijani Language and Culture in a number of foreign universities cooperating with the AUL.

Further, the questions of the mass media representatives were answered.

It should be noted that the opening ceremony of the I International Scientific Conference “HEYDAR ALIYEV: Multiculturalism and the Ideology of Tolerance” dedicated to the 95^th Jubilee of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, will be held in the main building of Azerbaijan University of Languages  at 12:00 on 9 April 2018.
