Academician Kamal Abdulla visited 100-year-old rural secondary school of Nakhchivan.

Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isaev, Acting Minister of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Deputy Minister Elkhan Najafov attended the meeting, which was held at the secondary school of Kyukyu village of Shahbuz district.

It is encouraging, that this year the school celebrated its 100th anniversary.

Director of the school Mais Mammadov was pleased to welcome the guests at their school. As a special manifestation of attention to education, he considered the decision to hold the 100th anniversary of the secondary school of Kyukyu village of Shahbuz district, which started its activity in 1924. 

The Director noted the success of the applicants. It was emphasized that 8 out of 9 students, graduated this year, have already made the first steps to enter the university. He noted, that the results achieved by students at the Olympics, are also encouraging.

The director noted, that two alumni this year were awarded a gold medal.

Rector of Nakhchyvan State University Elbrus Isaev congratulated the staff of the secondary school of Kyukyu village of Shahbuz district on the anniversary and wished them success in their teaching.

The rector named more than ten intellectuals, graduated from Kyukyu Rural High School and working at the higher educational institution, headed by him.

Acting Minister of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Deputy Minister Elkhan Najafov assessed the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the secondary school of the village of Kyukyu, Shahbuz district, as an important event in the social and cultural life of the autonomous republic, and our country. It was noted that today’s meeting will be long and warmly remembered  by the school staff and students.

Rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, academician Kamal Abdulla, shared his childhood memories of  happy days, spent in the village. The rector spoke about his creative activity and pedagogical experience.

As Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, he provided information about multiculturalism as a way of life of the Azerbaijani people and noted that multicultural values are highly valued in our country. This is an integral part of the policy, pursued by the Azerbaijani State and of the sentiments, coming from the heart of our people.

He noted, that great son of Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, has always treated representatives of other religions and nationalities with great respect. Kamal Abdulla presented his books to the school library.

The graduate of the secondary school of Kyukyu village, associate professor of the department of municipality and tourism of National University, Ali Jabbarov, in his turn, gave the books he authored, to Kamal Abdulla.
