AUL Rector meets head of Russian Information and Cultural Centre

Rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), Academician Kamal Abdulla met with the Head of the Russian Information and Cultural Centre Irek Zinnurov.

The rector expressed his pleasure to welcome the guest at the university, and talked about extensive relations between the two countries in the fields of education and culture. K. Abdulla noted that Azerbaijan has always been multicultural country, and our people are known for their tolerant attitude towards various religions. The Academician shared his views on teaching the Russian language in Azerbaijan. He added that Azerbaijani population takes great interest in Russian language, history and culture of Russia, and informed the guest about the Russian Studies Research Laboratory, which has been functioning at AUL since 2017.

Noting that despite the existing difficulties during the current pandemic, the Azerbaijan University of Languages has established online activities and maintains international ties remotely, contributing to the organisation of joint conferences with partner universities.

Kamal Abdullah  described the warm relations between AUL and Russian universities, and touched upon activities of Azerbaijani cultural centres at various higher schools of Russia.

Irek Zinnurov thanked the AUL leadership for the warm welcome. He expressed satisfaction with the growing diplomatic, economic, scientific and cultural relations between the two countries and stressed his readiness to all proposals for mutual cooperation within his competence. He highly assessed the leading position of AUL in teaching foreign languages, indicated his awareness of the projects implemented by the university, and stated the importance of future prospects in this direction.

Then Irek Zinnurov viewed Heydar Aliyev Lecture Hall functioning at AUL.
