Earl Litzenberger as a Guest of the Project of "Ambassador's Hour"

Academician Kamal Abdulla, rector of Azerbaijan University of Languages, received Earl Litzenberger, ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to the Republic of Azerbaijan. The rector expressed his respect and tribute to the ambassador. He said that Azerbaijan is a multinational country and stressed that the policy of multiculturalism is successfully implemented into life in the country. He spoke about Baku International Multiculturalism Centre. It was created on the initiative of the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and has been functioning for five years. The ambassador thanked for the warm reception welcome. It was his second visit to the University and expressed his pleasure for the warm reception. He noted that the culture, hospitality, friendly relations and delicious cuisine made a strong impression on him. The diplomat said that he has already visited the districts Xaçmaz and Quba and expressed his desire to visit other districts as well.

Speaking about his meetings with the government officials, the ambassador noted that they have a great desire to develop the bilateral relations. He noted that preparations for the extension of the term of next Memorandum of Understanding with the Baku American Center are underway.  Prof. Əfqan Abdullayev, vice- rector on education, informed the Ambassador about the educational process at the University, students and alumni, teaching of languages. The ambassador met the students of the University and other interested people within the framework of the "Ambassador's Hour" at the University. The ambassador talked about his personal experiences, of the years of his studies, his diplomatic activities, and the US-Azerbaijani relations.
