On April 11, “The Role of French in the Mexican Literature” was the topic of an event in the framework of “Francophone Weeks” at Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The event was organized jointly by Francophone, French Centre of Language and Culture and Spanish Language Centre.

The representatives of the embassies of Chile and Egypt and the ambassadors of Romania, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Cuba, France, Mexico in Azerbaijan took part in the event.

 The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan, Rodrigo Labardini   conveyed information about the life and creative activity of the outstanding Mexican poets and writers such as Carlos Fuentes, Octavio Paz, Alfonso Reyes, and Amado Nervo.

Then the students of the University read poems and stories of the same authors in French and Spanish.
