Presentation of the book “Azerbaijan multiculturalism”,published in English language at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL), was held on November 6. Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Management Ibrahim Kazimbeyli said in his opening speech that Azerbaijani multiculturalism is being taught in a number of foreign universities as well as Azerbaijan University of Languages. He said that the book was published in both English and Azerbaijani, and that its publication in English was important for the foreign readers. He added that the book reflects the multicultural environment both in Azerbaijan and in different countries of the world. Other speakers said that the policy of multiculturalism, laid down by the national leader Heydar Aliyev on political basis, was successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. Azerbaijan’s multiculturalism, which has its original historical roots, has always attracted the attention of other peoples. It was also noted that the preparation of the book on Azerbaijani multiculturalism in English will be an important resource for local and foreign students. Detailed information about the translation process of the book was given at the event. At the end, the rector of AUL, academician Kamal Abdulla highly appreciated the presentation of the book “Azerbaijan multiculturalism” published in English, held at the Faculty of International Relations and Management. The rector noted that the book is intended for students studying multiculturalism of Azerbaijan abroad. He noted that more than 40 prominent scientists, Azerbaijan cultural and art figures are authors of the book. According to the rector, the discussion of the book in different parts of Azerbaijan indicates that the textbook is widely supported by the public. K.Abdulla later spoke about Azerbaijan’s multiculturalism policy: “National leader Heydar Aliyev, who is a political founder of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, is a personality that caused reborn of multiculturalism in our country. Special attention to the national minorities living in our country, their region and culture is reflected in the orders of the great leader. President Ilham Aliyev continues this policy with dignity”. The rector finally thanked the creative team of the book.
