On February 7, the Confucius Institute operating at the Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) hosted a scientific seminar on " Garden-park art of Azerbaijan and China." Director  of Confucius Institute ,Professor Rafig Abbasov spoke on  national and moral traditions  of Azerbaijan and China  landscape architecture , recently on the instruction of  President of the Republic of Azerbaijan  Iham Aliyev  parks and avenues  have been restored and new ones were laid out, he added. He also mentioned that within the framework of working visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Iham Aliyev  to China in 2014, First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva   paid a visit the ancient Chinese classical garden - "Yu Yuan Park" in Shanghai with the wives of heads of state. The employees of Confucius Institute operating at AUL and the employee of Institute of Oriental Studies of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Narmin Aliyeva spoke about the classical Chinese garden elements and structure characteristics, ethical and philosophical aspects of the art of Chinese garden-park, the landscape forms that explain the impact of human. The teacher of the Department of Landscape Architecture at the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction Farid Karimov, a senior scientist of the department of "Landscape and landscape planning" of  Institute of Geography of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Sitara Tarixazar spoke about development history of decorative gardening and originality of practice of landscape architecture of modern Azerbaijan cities.
